As keen readers and writers, we are aware of the power of theories, perspectives, and words. At the same time, as researchers who work closely with our community partners, we believe in the power of communications and dialogues beyond academic publications. We also spend lots of time to “get our hands dirty” on the ground by designing, creating, and learning together with youth and children. We advocate for wider forms of knowledge creation and mobilization, and our efforts for alternative communications will be continued to share here.
Our team is engaging in multiple cycles of collective reflection and envisioning. Our guiding and grounding epistemes are not fixed but growing and transformational in action. We center learning in our design and engage in a continuous cycle of collective learning – learning together and with each other.
We strongly believe in Open Access and are committed to generating more dialogue, inclusion, and empowerment through open and transparent sharing of data and research. We will be happy to share our folder including all our publications if you send us an email at soilcamp2021@gmail.com
Community Publications
Our Soil Camp community zines take readers on a visual journey, exploring past Soil Camp experiences. The text and images throughout, serves to illustrate how our team partnered to “create a culture of community, collaboration, and care” with the children and youth of Soil Camp.
These adjacent zines highlight the transdisciplinary activities at Soil Camp that led to curious conversations; capturing a glimpse of the essence of Soil Camp - in its collage of visual elements, such as: soil, fungi, water color, soil painting, dried flowers, and plants. It is our hope that these collaborative zines will immerse its readers in Soil Camp's rich teaching and learning experiences.
